• Worked remotely with EY‘s Asia Pacific team to monitor, summarise and interpret developments at the recent COP26 summit in Glasgow, in particular decisions and agreements that impacted the financial services sector in the region, to assist the team with advice to their clients on implications and likely developments from the summit 
  • Assisted GPT group manage external media from the end of 2018, a sensitive period when the group came under pressure from the Live Performance lobby group over the future of the Theatre Royal in the MLC Centre, which GPT half owned at the time, and a re-weighting of the Group’s investments into the logistics sector at a time when its traditional office and shopping centre assets came under pressure during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Assisting Australia’s largest mortgage insurer Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia (ASX: GMA) with media advice and management ahead of the listing of its Australian business, and ongoing media support
  • Advising Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp ahead of the visit to Australia of its chairman in a delegation headed by the Japanese Prime Minister resulting in front-page coverage in The Australian of the significance of the visit, and an in-depth feature article inside
  • Advising and helping arrange media support for sonnen, Germany’s and Europe’s largest producer of solar-powered battery energy storage systems, on its 2016 launch into the hotly contested Australian market and highlighting its ongoing bid to develop a “virtual power plant” from its network of residential batteries
  • Producing complex, analytical reports for the Australian Recovery, Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA), the industry group for insolvency specialists, on the post-Covid environment for Australia’s tourism industry (particularly remote areas like north Queensland hit hard by the cut-off of overseas tourists), and also on new challenges in risk management for insolvency practices, focusing heavily on management of the rising threat from cyber hackers as well as evolving risks from litigation, regulators, staff embezzlement and the recent downturn in the insolvency cycle
  • Assisting the Australian Institute of Company Directors develop its response to criticisms of Australia’s director community in the Hayne Royal Commission report in February 2019, and ongoing support for AICD in developing fresh accountability guidelines in the post-Hayne environment
  • Arranging priceless exposure on a pro bono basis for Australia’s oldest company, the Bible Society, ahead of its 200th anniversary in 2017 with the placement in the Weekend Australian Magazine of the cover story “Found in Translation” reporting the society’s work in translating the Old and New Testaments of the Bible into the Pitjantjatjara language, thus ensuring the survival of the language
  • Protecting the interests of the independent directors of media group APN forced to resign in the face of opposition from two major shareholders to the board’s capital raising and debt reduction strategy
